Mondays with Mary Margaret

Happy Monday, more like sleepy Monday! My brother getting married and Day Light Savings all in one weekend is catching up to me right now. I am planning on a big bath and a huge cup of tea tonight! A few of you guys reached out and sent my family well wishes for my brothers wedding and it truly meant so much to me! Thanks for your love and support during such a happy time. Currently he is in DR on his honeymoon, the same place we will be vacationing in August and I can’t wait to hear all the details!

Whats new this week

^^ Beauty and The Beast comes out FRIDAY!! I am sooooooo pumped and have already got two dates planned with friends to go see it! This is my favorite childhood classic. It also has Emma Watson playing Belle, sorry for the “Nerd Alert” but Harry Potter is the best ever, I can’t even think of a better actress to play this role. The best part is that she sings in most of it too! I seriously can not wait you should go see it.

Wish List

^^ I have been eyeing this beautiful jumpsuit since it came out!I love the neckline and wide legs on the bottom half. Florals and ruffles are pretty much the way to my heart so the second I saw this jumpsuit I knew that it was something I was really interested in. I plan to go try it on and see if I can change it from “wish list” material to in my closet material!

Item of the week

^^ I wore this jumpsuit earlier this week and LOVED it so much! This culotte trend is coming back strong this Spring. After traveling to Europe last Summer I really focused on only packing rompers and jumpsuits because your entire outfit was in one. Now I can’t stop looking at all the jumpsuits, esp. with this culotte trend. Culotte is simply a knee length (sometimes longer) pant that is cut with very full legs. I love this trend because it is very forgiving and hits at the perfect length to wear some even higher heels! The biggest thing I got asked when I posted this look was how tall I was. I am 5’7 and would say to size down by two sizes. I don’t think you have to be tall to wear this jumpsuit, but Gap has a ton of other options that are fitted and  would complement any body shape.

This was my brothers verse to his wife on their wedding day and it was so beautiful I started crying  (for the third time)! I really want it to be one I have memorized and on my heart.

But Ruth replied,” Don’t urge me to leave you or turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay.. Your God will be my God and your people will be my people.Where you die, there I will be buried. May The Lord do so to me and more also if anything but death parts me from you.”

Little Red Dress

Happy Thursday! I missed this Monday’s post, I feel so bad about that, but honestly Monday was here and gone before I even blinked an eye! My goodness time is flying. My brother gets married this weekend and I COULD NOT be more excited. We love his sweet bride to be and can’t wait to get this long awaited show on the road! Now lets get to the good stuff, this dress!

^^ I love a good patterned dress. It brings so much fun and flare to any event! This dress could actually be classified as a swing dress because of the flow, but the fabric is lightweight and breezy enough to be perfect for the up coming warmer months. I can’t wait to wear this dress with sandals and a messy bun.

^^My favorite part of this outfit though is SERIOUSLY THESE SHOES!! I mean oh my goodness. I can’t even explain how much I love them, they are $30 and actually go with everything. I am literally styling outfits around them right now! They are super comfortable and affordable. Lastly, how great is it to own a pair of blue heels?!!? I planning to post a lot of Insta stories from this weekend, we are going to have such a great time. Stay tuned!

Mondays with Mary Margaret

Happy Monday!! I am SO thankful The Lord’s mercies are new every morning, I really needed and treasured His grace this week.  Here in GA the temperature has actually dropped a little. I was walking around the house with double wool socks and Andrew’s sweatshirt. Even though I know it will be a few more weeks I am soooo ready for Spring to arrive. On another note, I decided that I am going to stick to four topics for each Monday post, just to keep things organized. Ill be talking about what is new each week, my current wish list item, an item of the week, and of course the memory verse of the week.

What’s new this week

If you saw my Instagram story last week then you know that I watched HOURS of YouTube videos on the technique of Face Baking. I am going to be trying it out for my brother’s wedding. I can not wait!  I didn’t even realize I was in a makeup rut until I started watching these videos and realized how far behind the time I was!

^^ After reading a lot of reviews on about  100 different foundations I decided to purchase these two. I tried them out for the first time today and really love them combined. You can use each individually as foundation but the combo leaves a really good finish. Once I master the art of Face Baking I’ll share all the details!

Foundation 1 // Foundation 2

Wish List

^^ We leave for the beach in April and I am pumped!! This romper would be PERFECT, and it’s only $33!! I am dying over the tassels and the stripes. It’s so cute! The one shoulder is a major trend right now for Spring. I love it because it’s flattering to everyone and so classy! The one shoulder can also be dressed up or down. Add some wedges to this romper and you can go out to dinner but pair it with sandals and it’s a fun cover up!

Item of the week

These are all over our house. I’m not kidding when I say they are a game changer. I am a huge fan of tiny luxuries that make a huge difference. For example, walking into your home and it smelling fabulous every time, totally worth it to me.

^^I really enjoy Bath and Body Works for many reasons. Number one, there are so many scents to choose from that change every season. Your house can smell like pumpkin spice one month and Christmas the next. Number two, you can always find a coupon! I get Bath and Body Works coupons in the mail every month and save them for my next trip to round up wall flower scents. When I was in the store this most recent time a worker told me about a these coupons . I used the “10 dollars off when you spend 30” and got 10 wall flowers. This will last me at least 7 months! What a steal.

Florals and Fur

Yay for Thursday! I am so excited about this Giveaway! This neck wrap is so cozy and comes in three different colors. The one I am wearing is “Wolf”. It is so soft and can be transitioned into Spring when you surround it with soft accents. I have showed three different ways I enjoyed styling. To enter the Giveaway you simply have to follow Royal Scout and Co on Instagram. Then tag two people who you think would look great in this wrap too on my post and that’s all! How easy right?

^^ I loved pairing this wrap with florals. I mean how fun to branch out and add a skirt that I have only worn in Spring and pair it with fur in February to have a great transition outfit.

^^ The wrap comes with a slit that makes this look above easy to achieve. It is the most common way this wrap is worn too!

^^ Pairing this wrap with a pencil skirt allowed my lower half to be slimmed down. That made this simple way of the wearing the wrap not come off as bulky or stiff.

^^This is the third way I thought to wear the wrap. It’s much more romantic and chic. I loved how this looked and could see this wrap with a more formal dress as one of the many weddings I’ll be at during the Spring time!

^^ Don’t forget to visit their site. There are a lot of other Wraps, Boot Cuffs,Throws and Luxe Wraps. They are all beautiful and amazing quality. The wraps are usually 90$ and are on sale for 50% off, making them 45$!!

Mondays with Mary Margaret

Happy Monday guys! The weather was amazing today in GA. I am so thankful for days like today, I seriously thrive in the sunshine. The next two days are going to be rainy so I plan to do a lot of cleaning and meal prep for the rest of the week! Anyways enough about the day to day. Lets talk about the fun stuff!

Book Update

In case you are new to my site, I want you to know I am an avid audio book fan. I would love to sit down and read a book, but the entire time I am thinking about how much laundry I should be doing or things I could be cleaning. It’s truly the best of both worlds when I can listen to a book and feel productive! I finished Big Little Lies, just in time for the premiere on HBO. It has Reese Witherspoon in it, AHHH I am dying to start it! My husband is almost done with the book and then I can’t wait for us to start the show.

Book 1 // Book 2

^^ Of course I had to start another book right away, so a friend recommended The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer. Don’t judge, I was a total Twilight junkie so I figured anything by this author has got to be good! It’s off to a great start, and it doesn’t have any vampires so you are safe!

Cute Shower Ideas

I love shower gift that has character and I usually don’t use a bag! I just personally think gifts like this are soooo fun! I shared the gift I gave to my sister in law yesterday at her shower on my Insta -story yesterday. Here’s a peak at one of my other favorites I gave a friend recently. I put these cute little items in a baking dish off her registry.

Some people really enjoy bringing a small dish to a shower as well. I think this dish is a classic, plus it’s my favorite so I am biased!

^^You can’t go wrong with a good ole Caprese salad. Add a little balsamic dressing over the top and you are golden!

Fur Giveaway

Later this week  (Thursday hint hint) I am doing a Giveaway with this amazing company. All you have to do is follow their site and tag two friends on the picture I post! How easy is that?! I am super excited and I really genuinely love the product! Stay tuned for more pictures of how to style the wrap and be sure to enter to win on Thursday.

I am going to be honest I am keeping this weeks verse the same because I slacked majorly last week and did not get it memorized, sorry!

Isaiah 54:10

Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed my unfailing love for you will not be shaken ore my covenant of peace be removed. says the Lord who has compassion on you.

Step Forward

Horrayyy for today! I hope your Thursday is going so well, and thank you so much for stopping by! Today I am sharing my experience partnering with Famous Footwear for their #stepforwardmovement , a campaign encouraging women to step forward out of their comfort zone, celebrate accomplishments and inspire others along the way.

^^ When I first heard of the Step Forward Movement I knew it was something I was excited to be a part of! Stepping forward means taking steps to be the best you can be everyday. It’s not about being perfect or having it all together, but about stepping out of your comfort zone and taking risks that will allow you to become who you never thought you could be.

^^ Seven month ago if you had asked me if I would have ever had the courage to start a blog I would have laughed and said “NO WAY!”. Truly it all started with the support and encouragement I got from my husband. He purchased a camera for me to start using for pictures. Sometimes it just takes one person to believe you can achieve a dream you feel might be a little too big. The key is taking a step toward your goal and never looking back.

^^ The hardest part to starting this blog was my first post. I had no idea how anyone would react, what judgment or criticism I would receive, or if people would be super encouraging. At some point though, I had to abandon all my pride and fears and just lay it all out there. Stepping forward is not about staying in your comfort zone its about taking a challenging and rewarding step OUT of that comfort zone.

^^ So today I want to just encourage you to set high goals for yourself. Be willing to raise the bar for yourself and not settle on the standard that others have set. I encourage you to have peace when taking a step forward doesn’t always go as planed, knowing the future isn’t in our hands. We just have to be strong and have courage as we #stepforward into new things!

 Jacket /Top / Leggings / Shoes/ Lips

PS… Just a fun side note, when I saw the list of shoes to choose from there were booties, the new Adidas, and really great sandals. However, I already own these shoes in gray and they are SOOOOOO amazing that I had to get a second pair. I mean they are literally the best shoes ever. Just so you know =)

Thank you Famous Footwear for this post.

Bach Trip

I spent this weekend in Asheville, NC. It was such a wonderful time to get to meet and know Bailey’s friends. We rented a cabin, took a long walk and ate at the The Omni Restaurant. It had the most beautiful view of the mountains while we ate. After, we went down to the Dueling Piano Bar, where Bailey had to get up on the piano to be serenaded! What a blast. // To say this dress is my go to is an understatement, I literally wear it once a month. I wore it in December to our work Christmas party, boots and all…. I am not even ashamed. It’s that perfect!

Favorite Road Trip Song

While driving to Asheville we came across this song called Real Love by Imaginary Future. Listen to it once and tell you aren’t in a better mood! It’s amazing, I have had it on repeat all day. I don’t know anything else by this band but this is one great song!

Gifts for Men

With Valentines day being tomorrow, here are some last minute gift ideas ! I have given Andrew quite a few of these and they have been a hit each time.

My experience with Smile Brilliant

Happy Thursday, whoa the struggle bus is real today! I am on my second cup of coffee already, but I am drinking it a little differently these days….through a straw. I know, I am officially one of those people who drinks their coffee with a straw!  But lemme tell you why, because for the past few weeks I have been whitening my teeth with SmileBrilliant. When I started seeing these amazing results I really wanted to be sure I made them last and have taken extra steps to take great care of my smile.

^^ I so enjoyed this collaboration opportunity with Smile Brilliant. The company was wonderful to work with,  when you go to their website there is someone ready and willing to help you right away! It’s great to be able to ask the simplest questions without having to wait.

^^The difference between SmileBrilliant is they create molds that form individual trays. The instructions are super easy to follow and create molds within minutes. These molds are left out to harden and then sent in the package they provided to become individual trays. This company thinks of everything and makes the process completely convenient!

^^Once you get your trays the whitening process can begin! Some things to know are to start with 30 minute application sessions and then work your way up to the 2 hour mark. I thought because I have never really had an issue with sensitive teeth it might not be an issue for me, but I still was sure to proceed with caution because I have never used a whitener that was this strong before.

^^ Over the next 1-2 weeks you place the whitener in the trays and leave on your teeth for anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours.  They recommend a total of 7-14 sessions total, which should take about 1-2 weeks. After, you brush your teeth you then place the desensitizing gel inside. The desensitizing gel is amazing and really does make a huge difference in decreasing how sensitive your teeth are after each whitening experience. There’s a video here about how the gel actual works to help your teeth after you whiten!

Smile Brilliant Giveaway

Smile Brilliant and I have come together and are doing a Giveaway!!! Simply click on the link here to enter. The giveaway has a 139$ value in store credit allowing one lucky winner to receive their own T3 Whitening Teeth Set! The giveaway will last for two weeks, and all entries must be entered through the link provided here. Smile Brilliant has a number of different whitening packages ranging from 129$ to 159$. You can get 5% off your order with the code simplydarlings5! This company was amazing and I will highly recommend them to anyone.

With Spring and Summer approaching so many people make New Years Resolutions of health and fitness. I think there is value in being the all around best you can be. Making goals that aren’t just about  the number on a scale, but truly taking in the whole body and being the best you can be this 2017. Starting with your teeth. What will give you more confidence this year than a bright smile?

Mondays with Mary Margaret

I am so excited about this new series! I cannot wait to start sharing a few of my favorite things with ya’ll each week. When writing a blog post I typically focus on the products in the pictures and end with a few short words. This way I feel like I can connect with you guys on a whole new level. Happy Monday, I hope you enjoy!

Book of the Month

I started listening to Big Little Lies this month mostly because Reese Witherspoon is doing an HBO series of the book! I’m pretty much a fan of anything she is in, and I recently listened to the Husband’s Secret by the same author which was amazing. I was really excited to get into this book, it’s off to a crazy start!

On my Wish list

Y’all, I am currently wishing for these bad boys and also currently saving for them! I mean are they not the MOST beautiful shoes of all time???? They would go PERFECT with every Spring and Summer outfit you could possibly put together.

Favorite Jean Brand

Articles of Society is my all time favorite jean brand for two reasons: they fit great and they are totally affordable! They have so many styles and options for everyone, I really enjoy finding a brand I like and sticking to them for my basics because I know I can count on them to be durable and fit just how I like!

Favorite sale item this week

This dress is amazing, I wore it to church last week and got so many comments on it. It’s cozy and perfect for these winter mornings while it’s super chilly! This dress was originally $150 and now $50, you can’t beat that!

Whats happening this week

I am so excited for this weekend, it’s my brother fiance’s Bachelorette trips!!! Insert all the emojis. More details to come but we are going to Asheville,NC and I can’t wait to celebrate this amazing girl who has completed our family in the most wonderful way! We love her.
